SDG 13 – Climate Action 2025
DMU contributes to SDG 13 through education on climate and health, through its campus sustainability programme and through preparing the health workforce for climate-related risks such as extreme heat.
Sustainability programme
Sustainability launch and tree planting (30 June 2025) (Link)
DMU leadership, faculty and staff launched the university's sustainability programme by potting native seedlings in biodegradable pots with Goumbook, linked to DMU's “Plant a Ghaf” project.

The programme is led by a Sustainability Team with a student Sustainability Committee representing Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing, and sets five goals: less single-use plastic, energy, water and printing paper, and more community engagement.
Climate and health education
Environmental Sustainability (ENS203) — MD programme.
Green and Sustainable Pharmacy (GE707) — BPharm; covers global warming and environmental toxicology.
Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Sustainability (GER05) — MD and nursing, from 2025/26.
Pharmacy students joined The SEE Institute's Global Sustainability Summit roundtable on youth-led climate innovation (February 2025).
